Divergence Movie Night (DMN) is a not-for-profit film series based in Ottawa Ontario that is committed to bringing underground queer festival films to cities across North America. Every month we bring in an underground festival movie about GLBTTQ issues. The GLBTTQ community is filled with niches, so many of which we'll often never explore unless we are already in them. The goal of this night is to shed light on the huge array of GLBTTQ issues in the world, and to promote education and discussion about them.

Divergence Movie Night operates with a few principles that make it unique:
* Free Admission: We strive to make our showings as accessible as possible, only advertising a suggested donation for attendance.
* Discussion: If you want to talk about the issues or learn more, we follow up each film with an optional roundtable discussion of the issues involved. This can help bring the issues in the films back to the community.
* Full legal rights: Many community film groups actually show films without acquiring the proper public performance rights to present them. Divergence Movie Night has secured public performance rights for all of the films in our library.

Our film library covers a huge variety of topics, including: people of colour, men, women, youth issues, trans men/women, numerous aspects of trans identity, class issues, First Nations, the history of GLBTTQ struggles, drug use, parenting, BD/SM/DS, femme identity, sex work, rural queers, drag and more. We have movies that focus on Canada, the United States, India, Turkey, and Mexico. We are always expanding our library to be even more versatile as a community resource.
