Diverge Yourself: DIY in Your Own City!

We have been operating for two years now and have acquired a small library of quality movies. We hope you will be interested bringing the Divergence Movie Night film series to your city. Currently we show films in Ottawa, Montreal and occasionally Toronto.

Bringing DMN to your city is a low-cost endeavour that requires some effort from committed volunteers who want these movies in their home community.

If your city wants to bring this community-building effort in, we can help you get started. We provide you with our reservoir of knowledge and give you full access to our library of underground documentaries. The screenings can be designed and curated to meet the specific needs of your city and community. We send you the films each month and collect any donations that go beyond the costs incurred to run the evening. (If the host groups can secure community meeting spaces with projection capabilities, this is often low-cost and is easily covered by donations collected at the door. The only other costs associated with the project involve printing posters and mailing the DVDs back and forth.)

Money is not an issue with this series. Each showing strives to pull in enough donations to cover any equipment costs and shipping costs for the movies, but if we raise donations beyond that, they assist us in further expanding our movie library for all chapters. Festival films cost us anywhere from $100-$600 each, but by offering to show these films in various cities we slowly recoup the costs through donations.
